R. Keenan Davis is Senior Counsel of Kaminski Law Group. He is a member of the State Bar of California and is also an English Solicitor, a member of the Law Society of England and Wales [inactive status].
He is an experienced lawyer, a university-level teacher and a hands-on mentor who has represented start-ups, high-growth companies and small business owners, his entire thirty-plus year career. His clients become his friends. He enjoys helping them with the legal affairs of their companies, including planning the orderly succession of ownership to other partners including the next generation.
He was General Counsel for System Integrators, Inc. for fifteen years, an early Sacramento high tech success story. While at SII, he participated in private round equity and debt financings, Initial Public Offering, a management-led leveraged buyout, intellectual property registration, licensing, and enforcement, navigating the SEC regulatory environment, and numerous mergers and acquisitions.
He has been lead negotiator for many transactions around the world, including over a billion dollars of large-scale technology licensing agreements in the U.S., Europe and Asia, traveling over a million air miles in the process.
After SII, he was General Counsel for O1 Communications, Inc., another Sacramento high-growth success. It was an Inc. 500 company early in its life cycle. At O1, Keenan handled acquisitions, regulatory affairs and contract negotiations.
He also has extensive experience managing outside counsel in a wide variety of litigation matters.
For fifteen years, at the UC Davis Law School, in a summer law program called “Orientation to USA Law” he taught large groups of foreign lawyers about the laws of the United States.
He has used his teaching and legal skills as an active member of the Board of Directors for numerous Sacramento-area high-growth and start-up companies.
He brings his business succession planning skills to our estate planning client business owners, coupled with limitless energy and enthusiasm for the work.
Keenan divides his time between Roseville and San Diego. Keenan is married to the former Robin Reinking. Between them, they have ten kids and 30 grandkids!
